Father of Sierra LaMar Murder Suspect Faces Sexual Assault Charges

Genaro Garcia Fernandez, 51, was ordered to stand trial on charges he molested his daughter for nine years.

The father of , the man charged in the disappearance of Sierra LaMar, has been ordered to stand trial for multiple sexual assault charges.

A judge has ordered Genaro Garcia Fernandez, 51, to go on trial on charges that he molested his daughter for nine years, an investigator with the Santa Clara County Sexual Crimes Unit told KCBS.

Fernandez was taken into custody last July after his daughter stepped forward, alleging he had molested her numerous times, beginning when she was five years old in 1990.

The young woman said that the molestations continued until she was 14 years old.

Her brother, Antolin Garcia-Torres, was charged last month for the murder and killing of Sierra LaMar, 15, following her disappearance on March 16.
