Disturbing Details Uncovered in Case of Abused 3-Year-Old

The Mercury News uncovered gruesome details in this case, and Campbell police are still searching for suspect.

The story that gripped Campbell and its surrounding cities of an abducted 3-year-old girl and the manhunt for a suspected child abuser who fled his Pollard Avenue duplex has taken a dark twist.

The Mercury News reported gruesome details of what led to  the girl's mother, Jane Marin, 31, and continue the search for Marin's former boyfriend, George Rodriguez, 35.

Campbell police searched various residences in San Jose earlier this week, and two arrests on warrants were made in one of those houses, unrelated to this case, Campbell police Capt. Charley Adams said.

"They were acquaintances of George," Adams said."We want to make it clear that we will make it uncomfortable for others to house him. We may search the house, and his friends and acquaintances may be arrested because of this."

Sacramento police also searched homes in that city, but no arrests were made there, Adams said.

"We believe he had been staying there," he said. "Sacramento officers have been filled in and are keeping an eye for us."

Adams has been part of the Campbell police for 26 years and said he has never seen another case specifically like this one.

"What we are trying to do is find any lead where he’s staying, focus on arresting him as quickly as possible and get the case ready for the county," he said.

Police describe Rodriguez as a 35-year-old Hispanic man standing 6-foot-1 and weighing about 230 pounds.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Rodriguez is asked to call the Campbell Police Department at 408-866-2101.
