It must be something about the Orchard City ...
Last week, a and this morning, a Campbell Patch Facebook reader alerted us of some activity taking place near San Tomas Expressway at Campbell Avenue.
Turns out that a truck collecting grease from nearby restaurants forgot to put the cap on his tank and spilled cooking grease onto San Tomas Expressway and Campbell Avenue.
The truck in question was making collections behind San Tomas Plaza around 11:00 a.m. when the driver apparently forgot to put the cap back on his tank, Campbell Police Capt. Dave Carmichael said.
"We received a report of an oil slick and found that he had spilled grease onto the road," Carmichael said.
Both Campbell Public Works as well as Santa Clara County Fire were called out to clean up the spilled oil slick. The truck driver responsible for the cooking grease spill was found by police and was cited, Carmichael said.
