Campbell Police Warn Solicitor

A man was going door to door this afternoon without a solicitation permit.

A man wearing a black hat, black shirt and black jeans was going door to door this afternoon without a permit, Campbell Police Capt. Charley Adams said.

"The reporting party asked if he had a solicitation permit and he got argumentative and left toward Hamilton Avenue," Adams said.

The man, a 28-year-old from Oklahoma had been going door to door in the 300 block of Nottingham Way near Sheffield Avenue and was stopped by police, but there were no warrants for his arrest.

"He was warned to cease his practice of soliciting unless he obtained a permit," Adams said. "In this type of circumstance it's appropriate to call 9-1-1 because he was being argumentative or aggressive to the reporting party."
