*Update: Jan. 21, 10:23 p.m.
Campbell Police located Neby Issebey near Hillsdale and Jarvis avenues in San Jose at approximately 10:00 p.m.
According to police, a San Jose resident called police after spotting Issebey outside their home.
The 82-year-old man who suffers from dementia was located in good condition and returned home safely, police said.
"The basic protocol in this situation is that anyone can file a missing person report to any agency at anytime," said Campbell Police Sgt. Gary Berg. "Obviously 'at-risk' missing person reports (children, elderly, medical issues, etc) have different protocols in place to allow for greater attention in locating them.
"In this case, a county wide alert was sent out when the initial report was made, a flyer with a picture was sent to surrounding law enforcement agencies, and a 'Silver Alert' was activated," Berg said. "The Silver Alert is very similar to an Amber Alert, however, it is for a missing elderly person who is at-risk."
The investigation portion in this type of case includes checking prior addresses, known locations where the person goes and hospitals, he said.
"Once those locations have been checked, officers begin expanding their search and making contact at businesses to gather potential information on where the person might be or if they had previously been seen there," Berg said. "In this case, that is exactly what was done and we received a more up-to-date location of Mr. Issabey."
An 82-year-old man who suffers from dementia went missing from Campbell Jan. 21.
