Campbell Police Log: Christmas Tree Torched, Car Rammed, Shoplifter Kicks Employee

A look at the Campbell Police Department's crime log for Jan. 1-2.

  • Vehicle Burglary: 6 p.m. Jan. 1 at 1100 block of Archer Way, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and stole property.
  • Vandalism: 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1 at 100 block of West Latimer Avenue, an unknown suspect smashed a vehicle's window.
  • Under the Influence/Probation Violation: 2:15 a.m. Jan. 1 at 200 block of West Sunnyoaks Ave., a 23-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were found under the influence of a controlled stimulant and one was on probation.
  • Abandoned Stolen Vehicle: 10:38 p.m. Jan. 1 at 3600 block of So. Bascom Ave., officers located an abandoned vehicle that had been reported stolen out of San Jose.
  • Public Intoxication/Vandalism: 10:39 p.m. Jan. 1 a 17-year-old boy was determined too intoxicated to care for himself and in possession of graffiti tools.
  • Vandalism/Destruction of Property: 7:55 p.m. Jan. 1 at 100 block of West Campbell Avenue, an unknown suspect set a Christmas tree on fire.
  • Restraining Order Violation: 1 a.m. Jan. 2 at 700 block of Nido Drive, a 30-year-old suspect was in violation of a restraining order.
  • Vehicle Code Violation: 11:45 p.m. Jan. 2 at East Hamilton and Creekside, a Hispanic man in his 20s, medium build, rammed his car toward another. There was no damage to the victim's vehicle.
  • Assault: 10:19 p.m. Jan. 2 at 300 block of West Rincon Avenue, a woman alleged that a 65-year-old man had pushed her down to the ground. 
  • Outstanding Warrant/Possession: 11 p.m. Jan. 2 at 4300 block of Reden Drive, a 57-year-old man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant, was in possession of methamphetamine, syringes and driving on a suspended license.
  • Shoplifting: 10:52 p.m. Jan. 2 at 2300 block of South Winchester Boulevard, a 40-year-old woman concealed merchandise and exited without paying. She had prior theft convictions and was on probation. She kicked on of the store's employees.
  • Shoplifting: 3 p.m. Jan. 2 at 2300 block of South Winchester Boulevard, a 45-year-old man took merchandise from the store without paying and had numerous priors for theft and had a felony warrant for his arrest.
  • Possession: 1:45 p.m. Jan. 2 at 2300 block of South Winchester Boulevard, two men, ages 21 and 24, were observed drinking alcohol. One had a felony warrant for his arrest and the other was in possession of meth and a meth pipe.
  • Restraining Order Violation: 1 p.m. Jan. 2 at 1700 block of Pope Court, a 21-year-old suspect got into a physical altercation against a victim who had a restraining order against him. 
  • Vandalism/Commercial Burglary: 12:50 a.m. Jan. 2 at 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue, an unknown suspect smashed out a window on the east side of the building and made entry into the business and stole property.
