There were three crashes attributed to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, also called DUI, said Santa Clara County Sheriff's Sgt. Rick Sung. However, there have been no injuries or fatalities.

Sung said the cumulative 47 arrests in the county are down from 2010, when 73 DUI arrests were reported. The California Highway Patrol reports a similar trend in decreased arrests and crashes.

During the same period last year, there was one fatality, but there have been none so far this year, he said.
