Campbell Nanny Accused of Molestation

John Walker of Campbell watched the children of Campbell families for more than 10 years.

The , in conjunction with the San Jose Police Department Child Exploits Team arrested John Walker on March 8 on suspicion of child molestation. Walker was arraigned March 13.

"We received the tip last Thursday," Campbell Police Sgt. Gary Berg. "With a case involving children, that moves to the top of our priority list."

The 41-year-old Campbell man had been using his position as a nanny to "take advantage of the children in his care," the release stated.

Walker was charged with a total of 14 counts of lewd acts with children. Campbell Police said in the release that multiple victims have already been identified and the department is looking for other potential victims. 

“Young victims of these types of crimes can sometimes be reluctant to tell others about what happened to them," Campbell Police Chief Greg Finch said in the release. "They can be frightened, intimidated, or traumatized and they may feel ashamed. We are concerned that there may be other victims in this case. We are asking that anyone who may have additional information about this case contact the Campbell Police Department as soon as possible.”

 Walker worked as a nanny in Campbell for more than a decade and was known by the children he watched as "Mr. Johnny."

Police believe that due to Walker's time as a nanny in Santa Clara County, "there is a high likelihood other children under his care may have been taken advantage of."
