BLOTTER: Prowler, DUIs and Stolen Bikes

The following arrest information was supplied by the Campbell Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

This is the Campbell weekend blotter and includes Friday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11.

Friday, Nov. 9

Nov. 8, 6:18 p.m.

400 Block of E Hamilton Ave.

An unknown suspect used a stolen credit card to purchase items from a business. A report was taken.

4:00 p.m.

1200 Block of Dell Ave.

An unknown suspect smashed out the window to the car to gain entry. The suspect took a purse and fled. No suspect was seen and a report was taken.

8:38 p.m.

900 Block of W Hamilton Ave.

A suspect was arrested for shoplifting and was cited.

8:30 p.m.

Calico at Camden

A suspect was stopped by an officer for exhibition of speed and was cited.

10:15 p.m.

300 Block of  Union Ave.

A suspect was driving southbound on Union when he struck the center island next to the park, causing damage to his tires and rims. He fled the scene in his car and was located at The Pruneyard. He was found to be DUI and was booked.

2:02 a.m.

2300 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

A suspect and a victim are in a dating relationship and reside together. They got into an argument at the back and the suspect hit the victim in the head, causing a welt. The suspect was booked.

3:38 a.m.

2900 Block of Del Loma Dr.

The suspect is an ex-boyfriend of the victim’s daughter. The suspect attempted to scale the side of the house to gain access to the daughter’s bedroom. The reporting party saw the suspect prowling on her property. The suspect was located in his car that was parked nearby. The suspect’s wallet was found on the victim’s property. The suspect then confessed to prowling and was booked.

9:55 a.m.

2300 Block of S Winchester Blvd.

The suspect entered the store and took items without paying for them. He was contacted outside and taken into custody. He was also found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was booked. 

1:00-11:00 a.m.

900 Block of Sharmon Palms Ln.

The unknown suspect entered the unlocked car and stole items. A report was taken.

Sept.-Nov.

1100 Bock of Dell Ave.

The unknown suspect used the victim’s credit card number to make unauthorized purchases. A report was taken.

Saturday, Nov. 10

7:10 a.m.

200 Block of Orchard City Drive

A 24-year-old was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was booked.

Nov. 9-10, 5:00-3:30 p.m.

200 Block of Rose Ct.

The unknown suspect stole three bicycles. A report was taken.

Nov. 9-10, 5:45 p.m.-9:00 a.m.

3600 Block of S Bascom Ave.

The unknown suspect stole a Honda from the parking lot. A report was taken.

7:09 p.m.

2300 Block of S Winchester Blvd

A 56-year-old was causing a disturbance. The suspect was found to be drunk in public and was booked.

8:00-7:11 p.m.

300 Block of Budd Ave.

An unknown suspect stole a Honda from the carport. A report was taken.

8:10 p.m.

1800 Block of S Bascom Ave.

A 38-year-old was found to be in possession of marijuana and was cited.

10:30-8:34 p.m.

Shelly

A suspect stole a Honda. All keys were accounted for. A report was taken.

9:37 p.m.

Winchester Blvd. at Sunnyoaks Ave.

A 47-year-old was driving as possible DUI from the freeway. The suspect was found to be DUI and was booked.

1:12 a.m.

Second Street at Campbell Ave.

A 24-year-old was contacted for causing a disturbance. A records check revealed that he had an outstanding warrant and was booked.

Sunday, Nov. 11

Nov.9-11

100 Block of Union Ave.

An unknown suspect pried open the driver door window to a Honda and stole miscellaneous items. A report was taken.

10:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.

700 Block of Marilyn Dr.

An unknown suspect broke the left rear window to an Infinity and stole the car stereo and amplifier. A report was taken.

4:00-4:49 p.m.

200 Block of E. Hacienda Ave.

An unknown suspect smashed the right front window to a Subaru and stole a purse with ID and credit cards. A report was taken.

5:55-6:04 p.m.

1500 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

An unknown suspect became upset, breaking one of the front windows. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival and a report was taken.

11:45 p.m.

300 Block of Budd Ave

Campbell Police located a Honda Civic abandoned in the parking lot. A report was taken.

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
