BLOTTER: DUI Suspect Creates Disturbance Inside of Safeway and More

The following arrest information was supplied by the Campbell Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, April 27

7:13 p.m.

600 Block of Almarida Dr.

The suspect was arguing with his wife. She became concerned because of prior domestic violence and wanted to call for help. The suspect took the battery out of the phone to disable it. There was a peaceful contact order in place, which the suspect violated and he was arrested and booked.

6:23-7:23 p.m.

1700 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

The unknown suspect stole the victim’s brown 1986 Toyota  Camry from the parking lot. All keys are accounted for and a report was taken.

7:36 p.m.

800 Block of Sharmon Palms

Unknown suspect spray panted on the building. No suspect was seen and a report was taken.

Last two days

700 Block of West Valley Dr.

An unknown suspect stole the victim’s two bicycles that were locked to a downstairs pole. No suspect was seen or heard and a report was taken.

9:37 p.m.

100 Block of N. San Tomas Aquino Rd.

A suspect, described as a black male adult in his 20s, 6’3” and 140 pounds last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, tight blue jeans and a gray and white skate-style shoes took a gold painted mountain bike from inside the business. The suspect was last seen riding away southbound through the parking lot. A report was taken.

11:43 p.m.           

2300 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

A suspect was contacted for causing a disturbance inside the Safeway. He was found to be drunk in public, arrested and booked.

12:39 a.m.

300 Block of W. Rincon Ave.

A suspect came over to her ex-boyfriend’s residence. When the victim would not answer the door, the suspect smashed out the decorative glass front door to gain entrance. A piece of glass struck the victim on his face, causing a small cut. The suspect was arrested and booked.

2:07 a.m.

E. Campbell Avenue at Railway

A suspect was stopped for a California vehicle code violation while he was driving his car. He was found to be DUI, arrested and booked.

E. Campbell Avenue at Railway

A passenger in the above DUI arrest was found to be drunk in public and was also arrested and booked.

April 26

1900 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

An unattended iPad was taken and a report was filed.

7:00 p.m.-6:30 a.m.

900 Block of Campisi Way

An unknown suspect forced entry into the two businesses via the front door and stole computer firewall/router systems. The computer systems went off-line just after four hours.

Saturday, April 28

11:30 p.m.-8:30 a.m.

200 Block of Michael Dr.

An unknown suspect entered a Lexus and took a laptop in addition to a set of golf clubs. A repot was taken.

2:04-2:15 a.m.

E. Sunnyoaks Ave.

An unknown suspect smashed the window to a Corvette and took the floor mats. A report was taken.

3:00 p.m.

1600 Block of W. Campbell Ave.

A 49-year-old suspect took groceries without making an attempt to pay and was cited.

4:02 p.m.

1800 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

A 45-year-old suspect was contacted during a disturbance. He was found to have a warrant, was arrested and booked.

1:17 a.m.

Campbell Avenue at Winchester Boulevard

A 26-year-old suspect was stopped for a California vehicle code violation, was found to be DUI, was arrested and booked.

8:49 p.m.

4300 Block of Crescendo Ave.

A 35-year-old suspect was located and arrested. The original incident occurred on April 24.

Sunday, April 29

8:00 p.m.-11:00 a.m.

900 Block of Springfield Dr.

An unknown entered a Toyota and stole a GPS unit. A report was taken.

April 26-27

1900 Block of Montemar Way

An unknown suspect used a black marker on a fence post and a report was taken.

3:00-1:00 p.m.

1000 Block of Springfield Dr.

An unknown suspect removed and stole the right rear door of a Prius. A report was taken.

11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

200 Block of E. Campbell Ave.

An unknown suspect stole a roadbike. A report was taken.

7:55 p.m.

400 Block of E. Campbell Ave.

A 25-year-old suspect was found sitting on the curb hunched over. Upon contact, he was found to have a warrant and was arrested.

10:15 p.m.

Campbell Avenue at Jeffers

A 26-year-old suspect was contacted and found to have a warrant. The suspect was also found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle and was arrested.

8:40 p.m.

Railway Avenue at Orchard City Drive

A 65-year-old suspect collided with a tree and left the scene. He was later contacted and determined to be DUI and was arrested.

6:20 p.m.           

200 Block of Hollis

A 28-year-old suspect pushed the victim during an argument and later threatened him. She was arrested.

9:11 p.m.           

1800 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

A 43-year-old suspect was contacted and found to have two warrants and was arrested.

11:14 p.m.

800 Block of Sobrato

A 30-year-old suspect punched, choked and kicked the victim. Upon contact he was found to be DUI and was arrested.

1:22 a.m.

200 Block of E. Campbell Ave.

The suspect punched the victim, knocking him down. The victim hit his head on the metal foot rail. The suspect fled the scene and a report was taken.

11:30 a.m.-9:15 p.m.

400 Block of Union Ave.

An unknown suspect opened the victim’s door and activated the alarm. A report was taken.

April 28 4:30 a.m. to April 29 10:52 p.m.

800 Block of Century Ct.           

An unknown suspect entered the victim’s garage and took a trimmer and fled. A report was taken.

7:23 p.m.

2400 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

The suspect grabbed the victim and tried to kiss her. A report was taken.

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
