BLOTTER: Unwanted Romeo, Road Rage, Cocaine Possession

Monday, Aug. 6

5:59 p.m.

Pollard Road at Hwy. 85

Three juveniles were seen fleeing the area of a grass fire along the railroad tracks on the north side of Pollard. Central Fire investigator responded to the scene. A report was taken.

7:20 p.m.

600 Block of E. Hamilton Ave.

A 26-year-old suspect concealed merchandise and was caught by loss prevention. He was cited.

12:00-6:00 p.m.

600 Block of Maple Ave.

An unknown suspect used a victim’s debit card number to make two purchases. A report was taken.

7:00-11:00 p.m.

Heritage Village

An unknown suspect took a Honda. A report was taken.

3:36 a.m.

300 Block of W. Campbell Ave.

A 25-year-old was found to be DUI and was arrested.

Aug. 3-6

600 Block of Campbell Technology Pkwy

An unknown suspect broke a window to the business and entered. A report was taken.

2:30 p.m.

500 Block of E. Hamilton Ave.

A suspect concealed merchandise and was caught by loss prevention. She was cited.

Aug. 5

300 Block of E. Campbell Ave.

A suspect is a frequent customer that has been flirting with the victim. She has declined his advances and yesterday he verbally assaulted and pushed her. She pushed back. A report was taken.

12:13 p.m.

Millich Drive at W. Hamilton Ave.

A suspect and victim got into a road rage argument while they were both driving on Hamilton Ave. During the argument, the suspect brandished a knife. A report was taken.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

10:00 p.m.-7:40 a.m.

1000 Block of W. Hamilton Ave.

An unknown suspect stole a burgundy four-door 1996 Nissan Maxima. A report was taken.

Aug. 6-7, 10:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

200 Block of Union Avenue

An unknown suspect stole a black Honda CBR6000. A report was taken.

9:53 a.m.

1800 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

A suspect signed for a package intended for another person. A report was taken.

4:00 p.m.-9:30 a.m.

600 Block of Harrison Ave.

An unknown suspect entered a car and stole a cell phone. A report was taken.

6:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.

100 Block of W. Rincon Ave.

An unknown suspect entered an unlocked patio and cut the lock to three bikes. A report was taken.

3:47 a.m.

Campbell Technology Parkway

An 18-year-old and a 20-year-old were contacted and found to be under the influence and the younger of the two was in possession of .5 grams of cocaine. An arrest was made.

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
