This week's questions from Campbell Patch readers were answered by Campbell Police Captain Dave Carmichael.

Q: My neighbors were burglarized but I didn't even notice. How can I be more vigilant about crime in my neighborhood?

Being vigilant requires paying attention to the sights and sounds around you.  Many times, people are absorbed in the task they are performing and are not really observing their greater surroundings.

Criminals work hard to blend in and draw as little attention to themselves as possible. If you notice something suspicious or out of place in your neighborhood, call the police immediately and advise of your observations.  We rely on the community to be our eyes and ears, and have many great success stories of neighbors who reported suspicious activity to help us catch a criminal.
