Tech Girls Rock 'Pumps Up' STEM in Silicon Valley

Recently the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley and CA Technologies hosted Tech Girls Rock. More than 100, local Silicon Valley tween and teen girls participated in an all day, hands-on workshop focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities.

Girls were broken up into groups and rotated between interactive activities including computer coding, decoding cryptography problems and a STEM-focused scavenger hunt. Additionally, CA Technologies employees were onsite to serve as mentors, group leaders and panelists.

“Building excitement around STEM learning is a top priority for CA Technologies,” said Erica Christensen, VP, Corporate Social Responsibility, CA Technologies. “Through our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and our Tech Girls Rock initiative we hope to help level the playing field and let these young women, who are part of a generation defined and enabled by technology, know there is a place for them in this field.”
