Local Parent’s Groups

Being a parent is of course wonderful but (let’s be honest here) it is HARD work! Joining a parent’s group will not only help you and your child make friends, it will also help save your sanity. Trust us on this one!

Campbell Mom Squad
The Campbell Mom Squad is a parents' community group and blog, started by two Campbell, CA Stay-At-Home Mothers and good friends: Bethany Curran and Nicole Salacain. We are real Moms just like you. We don't pretend to be experts on parenting or children, and we're learning as we go just like every other parent out there. The Mom Squad is our place to share our experiences, and we hope you share yours too!

Moms, Dads, aunties, uncles, grandparents, teachers, and caregivers are all welcome! We really do believe that we're all in this together!

MOMS Club of Campbell
(Their name stands for Moms Offering Moms Support) The MOMS Club of Campbell is a part of the International MOMS Club. So, even if you don’t live in Campbell, there is likely a MOMS Club near you! They are a non-profit support group for the “at-home Mother of today”, whether you are a stay-at-home Mom, working part time, or working from home. They have monthly meeting and different activities and play dates throughout the month.

The MOMS Club ladies are a friendly group of local Moms and kids, and we’ve actually joined them for a few play dates and outings here and there.

Campbell MOPs
(MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers) The MOPs believe that all moms need support and their program is run by moms for moms. They meet on the campus of the Campbell Church of Christ at 1075 West Campbell Avenue, Campbell and child care is provided free of charge. They have monthly meeting and different activities, Moms’ night out/ day out, and play dates throughout the month.

These ladies are good friends of the Mom Squad and are very friendly and welcoming! All are welcome to drop-in on any of their activities too.

Meetup
There are many different parents’ groups on Meetup, so it is likely that you will easily find one to suit your needs. We actually met and became friends through a Meetup group for Stay-At-Home Moms... and the rest is Campbell Mom Squad history!

Tiny Tots
Along with their diaper service and a super cute boutique, Tiny Tots has many different parents’ groups, classes, and events throughout the month. Some of the groups include: Birthing Mama’s Circle, Working Mom’s Circle, Diaper Free Support Group, and Potty Training Circle. They also offer many other events for parents such as CPR training, car seat inspections, baby sign language, and music and movement. Dates and times vary, so please check their website for more info.

Harmony Birth and Family
Harmony offers many different groups including: Pregnancy and Postpartum Support, New Moms, Breastfeeding Moms, Dads Group, Stay-At-Home Dads Group, Connected Couples & Kids, and coming soon they will add LGBT Families Group.

Las Madres
Las Madres is a playgroup and parent’s support group. They have different play dates, activities, meetings, and speakers throughout the month. They do charge dues, so check their website for more info.

Gemini Crickets
Gemini Crickets Parents of Multiples Club of Silicon Valley is a non-profit support organization for families with multiples - twins, triplets and more. They have many events, play dates, and support meetings throughout the month.

The Parenting Continuum
The Parenting Continuum is “a community alliance whose mission is to share valuable information that supports the parenting of K – 12 students by providing resources to parents through parent education; empowering them to nurture the whole child and the whole family.” They have many events and speakers throughout the month.

PHP (Parents Helping Parents)
PHP “increases the quality of life for our most vulnerable by providing resources and support for children with special needs, their families, and caregivers.”
They offer support to parents and caregivers through a helpline, but also have many different events, activities, and meetings throughout the month.

Baby Boot Camp
There are many different classes nationwide, so chances are pretty good that there is one near you. Our local group is Baby Boot Camp South Bay which covers the Campbell, Los Gatos, and West San Jose areas. They meet on Mondays at Sports Basement Campbell, Tuesdays and Thursdays in front of Tiny Tots, and Wednesdays and Fridays at the Los Gatos Creek Trail.

They have many different classes and a “StollerFriends” group for Moms who “seek to promote nutrition, fitness and healthy lifestyle habits in their families as well as their communities.” The StrollerFriends group has weekly play dates and events for Moms and kids.

Stroller Hikes
Stoller Hikes is a nonprofit educational organization created to make public baby-friendly outdoor fitness and education areas and opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will find fully described outdoor locations including extensive photographs of hike attractions and trail conditions, information about exercising with babies including safety precautions and equipment advice, and other outdoor information. Free events occur every week!

We love our kids and our families, but we need the support of other parents who are going through the same milestones, daily struggles, and even joys as us. So, get out there and find a group that fits you and your lifestyle and you’ll be so glad you did!

Check out the Campbell Mom Squad on Facebook or Twitter! We share our articles, community events, thoughts on parenting, parent related current events, and more. We also welcome your comments, suggestions, and questions anytime!
