Fun Activity Friday - Painting with Straws!

How to make cool pictures with a little paint and some straws!

What you'll need:

Paintbrushes (or fingers!)

I started this project by watering down a little brown paint and plopping a little on the paper. I had Evie take the straw and blow the paint around the page (I wanted to try and make a tree so I had to guide her a bit, but if you have little ones they will just blow the paint all over the paper which is totally fine! It makes a really cool pattern).

After she made the initial trunk we used paint brushes and our fingers to make leaves all around the tree. It ended up looking so cool and she had a great time! I think we did three that day she loved it so much!

Evie LOVED it! I was thinking I could use applesauce or pudding and see if Milo would like it...although we all know he's just gonna eat it ;)

How about vanilla pudding with food coloring? Tried that for finger paints with some of the kids I nannied for and they loved it.

That looks like so much fun! Andy is still a bit young for art, but we will definitely try this when he stops thinking that everything is food! haha :D

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said pudding. We've tried it before and he just ate it, hahaha...I wish he would stop eating EVERYTHING! ;)

My son is the same way and he's 16 months! He wants to eat EVERYTHING! We've done a few projects with edible things (applesauce, pudding, corn meal, etc...) but he still just eats it, haha! ;)
