Union Avenue Train Depot

Before BART, light rail and now the California High Speed Rail.

There's a lot of talk surrounding transportation of late.

This week's history photo offers up a peek into what local transportation looked like more than 100 years ago.

This photo depicts the South Pacific Coast Railroad's, later Southern Pacific Railroad's Union Avenue Station. Located on the Southeast corner of Union and Railroad (Camden) Avenues this black and white photo taken in 1908 shows the small Union Avenue station sitting near a dirt road and weedy tracks with bare orchards visible in the background.
