We've all seen . The kids are all fascinated by it (and so are many of us "grown-ups" as made apparent by the enthusiastic fist pump in the photo attached to this article!). We even did on the behemoth.
Now, we have a "homework" assignment for the young and young-at-heat:
- Draw a picture of the crane and submit it at the top of this article (easiest way to do this is just snap a picture of the renditions and then upload).
- Write a question for the crane operator.
So far, we have gotten two questions:
- From a 5-year-old: How does it work?
- From a 9-year-old: Why doesn't it fall over when the horizontal part is longer than the vertical part?
As soon as I have more than a handful of submissions, I will contact the construction crew, ask the questions, get the answers and post the responses here.
And for those curious as to how tall this piece of heavy equipment is, here's your answer: 150 feet!
