Tequila Lovers Come Together for the First Margarita-Off

On the heels of the successful "Bloody Mary Off," Khartoum is hosting another event to see which local bartender makes the best Margarita.

On Saturday, there will be a whole lotta limes getting cut up at  as local bartenders go head to head to see who can make the best Margarita in town.

Local bar Khartoum is hosting the first "Margarita-Off" this Saturday, July 14, 1:00 p.m. The idea for the event came on the heels of the establishment's recent "" in March.

"There was a lot of jawing amongst bartenders and demands for a 'rematch' led to a margarita off!," says Khartoum Manager Kelly Crowley.

What makes a good Margarita? Crowley says that a good one is both smooth and hits all the taste points: sweet salty spicy tart.

"It quenches the thirst and makes you want more!" she says.

People are encouraged to come watch the competition, Crowley says.

Food will be brought to the event from Casa Lupe and the audience will get a chance at taking part in the event with "most popular" category for this contest where patrons can purchase a sample for $2 and will get a raffle ticket in return that will be used to vote for their favorite margarita.
