An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4 rattled an area south of San Jose early this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake occurred at 1:13 a.m. about 9 miles north of Morgan Hill and about 15 miles southeast of downtown San Jose, according to the USGS.
According to the site, one person in Campbell reported feeling the early morning quake, nearly 28 miles away.
The temblor had a depth of about 4 miles.
