Seven Things to Do in Campbell This Weekend

Campbell is loaded with events every week. Here's our "short list" of things to check out before the weekend's over.

School is back in session this week, but that doesn't mean events in the Orchard City are taking a break. In fact, we think it's just the opposite!

There's the first football scrimmage at this Friday, Aug. 24 at 4:00 p.m. Get a sneak peek at what the Warriors have in store for fans this season. Cost: $5 general admission, $4 for senior citizens, and $1 for ASB card holders and children. Children 4 and under are free.

The fourth annual Egyptian Festival kicks off Friday, Aug. 24 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and goes through Sunday, Aug. 26 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at . Check out the food, music and entertainment and win a new car? Yup. Festival organizers are raffling off a new car. Sorry, no pets please.

is technically in Saratoga but it's a school so we are including them in this week's list. On Saturday, Aug. 25 from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this high school is raising funds for its athletic programs by offering up used goods. Admission and parking is free and for those interested in a space to sell, call (408) 554-2999.

Campbell Recreation is hosting it's on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. (walk begins at 9:15 a.m.) at the . Along with games and classes, the event will also have a 3K walk, with three-legged version optional. Pre-register to walk here.

Assemblyman Jim Beall will be at the Campbell Community Center on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torkalson for a free community pancake breakfast where you can ask all your education and school questions. For more information call Rodney Foo at 408-282-8920 or email at rodney.foo@asm.ca.gov

6. Family Fun with Gary Lapow

invites families with children ages 6 months to 8 years to come out on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 11:00 a.m. for some live music. But please, RSVP at 408-371-5000.

is holding a ribbon cutting and open house in their new location--the former Campbell High School-- on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Go check out the classrooms, the educators and the indoor playground.
