68th Annual Old Settlers' Day Celebration

Along the parade route in downtown Campbell.

This week's history photo depicts a former Campbell celebration in May 1960.

In this photo taken during the 68th Annual Old Settlers' Day Celebration, the Queen and Princesses ride in a parade on the back edge of a convertible.  From right Princess Emiline Smith, Queen Judy Boyd, and Princess Layne Hecker.

The three women are shown in their evening gowns, holding their flowers and the queen is wearing her tiara.

An estimated 40,000 people watched the 3 1/4 hour parade along its 1 1/2 mile route with at least 3,500 participants in the actual parade.

The back of the photo is stamped with red ink and reads "Marlin Rowe, Photographer, 49042 Titson Ave, Cupertino, Calif., 2-4786."
