Three Ways to Observe September 11 in Campbell and San Jose

There are dozens of ways throughout the county. Here is a few events taking place in or near the Orchard City.

The following is a list of local observances of the 11th anniversary of September 11.

SAN JOSE: Tuesday, 9/11 9:00-10:00 a.m. and 6:00-7:00 p.m.

9/11 Memorial Service at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., at the permanent September 11 memorial at the corner of Curtner Avenue and Monterey Road.

SAN JOSE: Tuesday 9/11, 5:00 - 7:15 p.m.

The American Muslim Voice Foundation and Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese are hosting a multifaith peace picnic. They and their co-sponsors are encouraging all Americans to join “The Miracle Movement of Peace and Friendship” campaign to ensure the nation’s safety, security and harmony. Free dinner will be provided. The event takes place in the James McEntee Plaza, in front of the County Building, 70 West Hedding, San Jose.

CAMPBELL: Tuesday, 9/11, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

The will host an interfaith prayer service. Muslim prayers take place at about 8:00 p.m., and further prayers and discussion in the sanctuary. The event will be located at the Campbell United Methodist Church, 1675 Winchester Blvd.
