Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Campbell Library's Monday Hours

For the first time since 2004, Campbell Library is now open Mondays.

Campbell dignitaries and library staff were present at the official ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.

The Campbell Library kicked off its new hours, .

"I want to thank my colleagues on the County Library JPA Board," said Campbell Councilman Jason Baker to the modest crowd outside the library May 1. "But most of all I would like to thank our whose innovative and proactive leadership made this possible."

Baker got his feet wet with Campbell politics while volunteering for the library funding measures A and B.

He is not alone in his support of local libraries. Both Campbell Mayor Mike Kotowski and Vice Mayor spoke of the importance of the library system at the ceremony.

"Libraries are an essential part of any American city and Campbell residents deserve a library that is easily accessible to our diverse generations, young and old" Low said in an email. "We are in the heart of Silicon Valley and our library will continue to spurn innovation in this rapid and fast paced environment. Kudos to our librarians, elected officials and library staff to help keep the library open on Mondays."
