HISTORY: Campbell Fire Engine 25

Campbell celebrates its annual Old Settlers' Day parade with a local fire engine.

In this week's history photo, the Campbell Fire Engine 25 shows off during a local parade.

The Campbell Fire Engine 25 was being driven by three Fire Department officers in uniform during the 68th Annual Old Settlers' Day Celebration Parade on May 1960.

On the back of the photo, stamped with red ink: "Marlin Rowe, Photographer, 49042 Titson Ave, Cupertino, Calif., 2-4786."

An estimated 40,000 persons watched the 3 1/4 hour parade along its 1 1/2 mile route with at least 3,500 participants in the actual parade.
