Caution: Oversized Load

The move of the historic Ainsley House in the early 1990's was a sight to be remembered.

This week's history photo is of the Ainsley House's relocation on Nov. 18,1990.

The image shows the house on the moving rig being towed through Campbell's streets, specifically over the Hamilton Avenue/Highway 17 overpass.

Campbell residents line the sides of the street to watch the large house roll by. A motorcycle Campbell Police officer is shown in the foreground. The yellow and black banner stretched across the side of the house reads:

Find out what's happening in Campbellwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Special Heavy Moving & Rigging Almas International, Chino, CA USA.

The stamps on the reverse of the photo paper read:

"This Paper Manufactured by Kodak."
