Campbell Comes in Fourth in Water Conservation Challenge

The month-long challenge asked residents to do their part in conserving water.

The results are in and Campbell placed fourth in the 2013 Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation among nine other cities with populations between 30,000 and 99,999.

Bremerton, Washington came in first and Encinitas, Calif.--the only other California city on this list--placed second.

"I know that we all take clean water for granted, but let us do our part to conserve water," says Campbell Mayor Evan Low. "It is and will continue to be a major policy challenge/debate."

In honor of Earth Day 2013, the city of Campbell took part in the 2013 Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation, between April 1-30. The contest is a non-profit, national community service competition developed by the Wyland Foundation.

According to the website, mayors of cities throughout the United States engage in a friendly competition to see which leader can best inspire their residents through easy-to-use online pledges to reduce water and energy usage.
