Good Vibes

Campbell's Sunday Farmers Market was very busy. The weather was just right. There’s so much being harvested now and in the coming five months that it’s a beautiful sight, especially when you get stuff free.

The cherries are here. And to me, they are the biggest treat of all the fruit the market offers. About four to five thousand people come through the market on a busy day. Campbell is the biggest and the best of all the farmers markets in the South Bay. And there's about 15 of them. This means that there will be an overabundance of garbage blowing out of the stationary trash cans that Campbell has provided.

And it’ my job. I finally got a dolly to assist me in the gathering and disposal of this extra trash. I do three jobs on Sunday: One is the San Jose Mercury that I set up and sell. I sell about 50 papers every Sunday. I just put a bucket and a sign up and walk away.

I also help a couple of people unload their trucks, which, I get paid well for. So by the end of the day, that Sunday, I had plenty of money to take a vacation.

What I mean by that is rent a room with a bed, cable TV and a hot shower. I have a McDonald’s next door, but I had a whole roasted chicken and a half gallon of ice cream instead.

Surprising that I have cable TV, I get tired of flipping around, and mind you this particular hotel only gets about 15 channels. I don’t know how people deal with two, three, or four hundred channels in a house. It’s insane.

I do my laundry and come out to Campbell’s and enjoy the beautiful weather today. You don’t have to necessarily have a house, you just have to have a place to go.
