The

Gallowglasses formed in 2008 as a traditional Celtic music quartet. While their

music is based on the traditions of Ireland and Scotland, the group often

branches out into other more modern areas. They are particularly fond of

playing the traditional body of Celtic music in a fresh and interesting ways.

Three and four part harmonies are a part of that, along with intricate

arrangements in both up and down tempo songs and tunes. The current lineup includes: - Violinist

and vocalist Lee White
has been a SF Bay Area

session regular. Lee has extensive experience across multiple styles of music,

but it's all Celtic fiddle with The Gallowglasses.

- In addition to Irish traditional music, guitarist Mark Boronkay also

plays American Folk, Fingerstyle Blues, and good old Classic Rock. He's a

founding member of Dance Around Molly, Molly's Revenge, Thornhill Road, and has

dabbled in other no-named yet very worthy projects.

Vocalist and bodhran player Donovan Ryan is

new to the Celtic music scene. His background is as a singer-songwriter, and he

lends a modern edge to the band's repertoire.

Bouzouki and mandolin player Michael McNelly has

played in a variety of bands globally since 1992, and in myriad of far-reaching

genres. Originally a guitarist, Michael traded his 6-string for the 8-string

Irish bouzouki when he founded the Gallowglasses.
