Michelle Obama Will Come to Bay Area for Fundraiser

The First Lady will attend a "Women's Brunch" fundraiser in San Francisco.

First Lady Michelle Obama will be stopping in San Francisco this month for a fundraising trip.

Obama will be attending a "Women's Brunch" with Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, on Oct. 13 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

Congressman Sam Farr, D-Monterey, is hosting a bus that is taking 40 women from his district to the event.

Farr's press secretary Adam Russell said the theme of the event is women empowerment.

The reception and brunch at the hotel, located at 950 Mason St., is a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the campaign arm of Democrats in Congress.
