Updated: LIVE ELECTION RESULTS: Campbell School Tax Measure E Passes

Will voters continue a parcel tax for the Campbell Union High School District?

Update: 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6: Campbell Union High School District trustee Kalen Gallagher said Measure E's passage Tuesday evening with 76 percent of the vote "speaks volumes to the value our community places in public education."

The extension of the parcel tax will allow the district to continue to attract and retain high quality teachers, expand course offerings, and increase technology available to students and teachers, Gallagher said.

He attributed the measure's success at the polls to living in "a very special community that sees the value in supporting a strong public education system.

"On top of that there was a huge network of volunteers led by our teachers who helped voters understand the numerous benefits of passing Measure E."

The seven-high-school district, with an enrollment of about 7,400 students, will need to be "laser focused on increasing the number of students who have the opportunity to apply to college," Gallagher said.
