Dressed to Thrill on Halloween: Pets!

Share photos of your dog, cat, or other pet dressed for Halloween with us.

With Halloween just around the corner, many people are busy putting together the perfect costume to wear on the big day.

But what about costumes for pets?

It’s a growing trend.

Over the past several years, many national pet supply stores have stepped up their offerings to include Halloween costumes, accessories, and even foods for the pet set and their owners.

In Campbell, several stores are well-stocked with Halloween-themed hats, capes, goggles, bibs, wigs, and more for dogs and cats.

The big-sellers this year, at least according workers at Pet Smart on West Hamilton Avenue in Campell, are Marvel Comic themed costumes.

Owners who would like to give their timid cats or shy dogs a boost of confidence have several Super Hero costumes to choose from including The Amazing Spider-Man, Wonder Woman and Superman.

Also popular are shark fins and cowboy hats for cats, and Mohawk wigs for dogs.

Pet Food Express on South Bascom Avenue in Campbell also has a selection of Halloween gear for pets, but it seems to be oriented more toward dogs than cats. And Petco, at 500 El Paseo de Saratoga in San Jose, also has a good supply of holiday costumes for pets.

So, is your pet ready to join the costume parade on Halloween? If so, tell us about it in the comments area below. Or, better yet, share your photos and videos with us by clicking the Upload Photos and Videos button on this page and following the instructions.

We look forward to seeing them!

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth. Thank you for sharing your story and memories! Very truly yours, Karen Hunt Great grandaughter of the owner of the Original Fabers Cyclery.
