1. He controls the largest budget of any City department.

2. When he speaks, people listen.

His feedback and recommendations are taken very, very seriously by the City Council and all other decision makers in Campbell (our observation).
3. He has the most direct impact on the streets and neighborhoods in Campbell.
Most other City positions, including individual City Council members, have more of an indirect effect on our lives as residents and businesses.
4. He can allocate resources, move men and machines, enforce policies, block streets, even close a business (with cause) with a phone call or the stroke of a pen.
5. He knows more than anyone about what's happening on the streets of Campbell.
Bonus Reason: He is (really) a magician with a genuine magic wand that can make solid objects disappear and reappear at will. Amazing!
And, after a recent meeting with him, we experience him to be very knowledgeable, caring about the concerns of residents and businesses, open to solutions and ideas for improving public safety, and possibly the nicest cop we've ever met.
