Get Healthy With These Anti-Inflammatory Foods

There are so many things that we do that cause inflammation. Our body has an inflammatory response when we eat poorly, exercise, or stress out. This inflammation can interfere with our goals of good health. Fortunately, there are many foods that we can eat to minimize inflammation.

Ginger
In my experience, the best way to get ginger into your diet is to peel it and then cube it. Stick a cube in the corner of your mouth, and let the juice slowly come out. When the ginger loses its flavor, you've extracted all the juice.

Garlic
I know, raw garlic is not the best tasting, but try mincing it along with celery, carrots, and parsley. The combination is very anti-inflammatory and tastes great.

Lemon
Lemon is easy to incorporate into your diet. Use it as a salad dressing, add it to a smoothie, or just squeeze some lemon juice into your water.

Herbal Tea
Once or twice a day, try to drink a cup of herbal tea. Some great ones are chamomile and mint. Try to find new, great-tasting herbal teas in your local grocery story.

Berries
I love blackberries. They are a great snack and have anti-inflammatory benefits. Other great anti-inflammatory berries are blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries.

Greens
There is nothing like eating a big salad or drinking a green drink. Some of the best anti-inflammatory greens are kale, chard, parsley, dandelion, and spinach. Try to eat a variety of these great anti-inflammatory greens.

Water!
If you're not drinking enough clean water, you can eat all the good stuff in the world and it doesn't mean anything. Try to drink up to a gallon a day if you're active. Above all, listen to your body and determine your right water intake that way.

Try to include at least one anti-inflammatory food at each meal. And of course cut out the inflammatory foods such as fried, greasy food, overly salted, sugary, etc...  It's easy to be healthy, but first you have to decide to be healthy. Make a decision to be healthy right now!
