Psycho Donuts Celebrates Hanukkah

The local shop offers traditional treats.

Nothing says its the holiday season like the food and is offering up one tasty treat.

Now in its second year, the donut shop is offering Sufganiyot, a traditional Israeli donut made to enjoy just before Hanukkah.

"Since we started Psycho Donuts, we've had requests from the Jewish community to sell Sufganiyot during Hanukah," says Psycho Donuts owner Jordan Zweigoron. "So we started selling this last Hanukah with great success!"

The local Campbell shop's version of the sweet is a raised donut, strawberry filled, and topped with powdered sugar.

"Relative to many of our donuts, Sufganiyot is a more conservative/traditional offering, but there are very few places where you can buy sufganiyot," Zweigoron says. "Often times, Israeli families buy sufganiyot from other families who make small quantities at home. So we feel it serves the need of the community by offering this during Hanukah."
