Just B Dance Raises the Barre, but Needs Community Support

Campbell's Just B Dance is getting American Ballet Theatre certified, but needs the community's help.

Local dance, performance and wellness center is raising the barre with an American Ballet Theatre certification but needs the community's support.

All this week, Just B Dance invites the community to stop by and make a donation for its garage sale and car wash fundraiser this Saturday, May 5 at 827 W. Hamilton Ave.

"We hope that through incorporating this method we will be able to offer an even higher standard of training for all of our students, and help dancers who are interested in pursuing professional dance careers go even further while training at our dance school," says Bethany Hooks, owner of Just B Dance in an email.

The center will have two of its instructors learning ABT National curriculum throughout the summer. The curriculum, according to Hooks, is a blend of "the Italian, French and Russian methods of ballet, while also incorporating nutrition and wellness development."

The dance center has been operating in the Orchard City for two years and began with two students, Hooks says. It currently has approximately 175 enrolled students.

"This is the first ballet curriculum that has been developed as an 'American' method," she says. "And because of its comprehensive material, it is becoming the standard to hold all other ballet training to."
