The annual event celebrates Silicon Valley’s role as a leading regional dining destination.

“While other parts of Northern California tend to get more attention in the culinary press, Silicon Valley has become one of the dining world’s best kept secrets. Our goal is to encourage the Valley’s restaurateurs to stand up and be counted in the culinary world,” said Dan Pulcrano, CEO of the Silicon Valley weekly newspaper Metro, which is organizing the promotion in conjunction with media partners and local restaurants.

Silicon Valley Restaurant Week offers diners an opportunity to enjoy the top restaurants at a very affordable price point and it provides restaurants exposure to new customers, "We enjoyed a great experience with Restaurant Week 2010; seeing guest counts up over 40% for the week and guest reactions were spectacular, with many selecting us both for the view and to enjoy the cuisines of Chef Michael Miller,” said Bruce MacKenzie of Silicon Valley Capital Club.

Diners will encounter enticing flavors, exotic ingredients and mouth-watering selections that are emblematic of Silicon Valley’s diverse culinary community. With so many different cultures migrating to Silicon Valley, local flavors incorporate exotic flavors and fusions, along with Northern California’s fresh ingredients.

Menus will be published on www.siliconvalleyrestaurantweek.com. Visitors to the site can also sign up for email alerts and enter for a chance to win gift certificates at a participating restaurant, (not during Silicon Valley Restaurant Week).

Sponsors of Silicon Valley Restaurant Week include the Metro Silicon Valley, Santa Cruz Weekly, the Los Gatos Observer, LosGatos.com, SanJose.com, KFOX, NBC, Camera Cinemas, and Opentable.
