The local aquarium shop closes its doors Jan. 15.

Another long time Campbell establishment is closing its doors. Dolphin Pet Village will wrap things up after 47 years in the Orchard City on Jan. 15.

The local pet store and aquarium retailer, located at the Kirkwood Plaza, 1770 West Campbell Ave. left this message on its Facebook Page:

In 1965 we opened the doors as Dolphin Aquarium and evolved into Dolphin Pet Village in 1970. Now after almost 47 years we are closing our doors.
The last twelve years have changed the way we all shop and spend money. Unfortunately stores like this one are not in demand like they once were. It saddens me to leave our community without such a resource as we have provided over the years.
We would like to thank you all for your patronage over the years and especially the people who realize the value of a real fish store.

Sincerely,
Everyone at DPV
