Campbell's Frost Wins Food Network's Cupcake Wars

The local cupcake shop took home the grand prize; the Cupcake Wars Winner title and $10,000.

Frost Cupcake Factory is feeling the sugar rush.
Andrea Parks and Ashley Ingoglia invited residents, family, friends and supporters to their Cupcake Wars viewing party on May 19 and celebrated their win.
"Winning Cupcake Wars is unreal to me," says Frost Cupcake Factory owner Andrea Parks. "Even though I already knew I won, I had no idea the outpour of support would be so intense! I have yet to catch my breath to reply to the hundreds of emails, Facebook posts, messages, etc.
"I am just overwhelmed with all of the positive feedback!" she says. "People have been coming in for the past few days just beaming with pride for us and so deeply happy for our huge accomplishment. We truly feel like we made Campbell proud now, and we're so happy to continue to serve the cupcakes we love so much!"
The cupcake champion is one one of three cupcake shops in the Greater Bay Area to make it to the show and the only one to bring home the title--and the $10,000 grand prize.
"I think Campbell has come a long way, the town has grown so much over the last few years," Parks says. "I'm just excited to grab just a little bit more attention for such an amazing community! Campbell put themselves on the map, but now Frost may have a permanent address!"
The screening party in downtown Campbell took place at the Sonoma Chicken Coop on the same weekend as the two-day Boogie on the Bayou festival.
Supporters and fans huddled together to watch Parks and Ingoglia out-bake the competition.
"I am so proud that Andrea and her team represented Campbell well on national television," says Campbell Mayor Evan Low, who also attended the screening party. "This is a perfect example of the tremendous talent that small business provides to the Campbell community."
Parks says that the number of people who 'braved the streets of Boogie' to come to the viewing party made it feel like being at a Superbowl party.
"The cheering was awesome, the celebration was heart warming and our families, friends and loyal customers made us feel so special," Parks says.
According to the cupcake shop's press release on the big win, the winning cupcakes are now available at the downtown Campbell storefront:

Peanut Butter Moon Pie
- A classic childhood cookie gets an out-of-this-world makeover! With a graham cracker crust, this chocolate cake is filled with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache, and topped with marshmallow frosting.

Borscht Apple Pie
- Proving that what may sound like opposites actually does attract, this treat will send tastebuds to an entirely new galaxy. This beet carrot cake is filled with apple pie filling, covered with a cream cheese frosting and finished off with by a moon-shaped cheddar cheese pie crust topper.

Tear, I Miss You
- A special cupcake, dedicated to the wives and families of the astronauts who supported them while on so many important missions, this is a traditional Tiramisu in the form of a gourmet cupcake! A vanilla cake is soaked with coffee-rum syrup and topped with a marscipone-marsala whipped cream frosting.

Coming this summer (when figs are in season) will be the Figeroa. Named after Figeroa Street in Los Angeles where the California Science Center is located and the final stop for the Space Shuttle Endeavor, this is a fig cookie cake filled with a salted fig compote and topped with cream cheese frosting.
