Anniversary Party Doubles as Fundraiser Tonight

Rock Bottom Brewery is celebrating its 15th year in Campbell tonight and hosting a fundraiser for the Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation.

It's been 15 years since Rock Bottom Restaurant opened its doors in the Pruneyard Shopping Center.

Tonight, they will celebrate this and their recent recognition as the Campbell Chamber of Commerce's Business of the Year and Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation President and Ceo Jim Free says it's well deserved.

"Bennett Ponder and those folks have been very generous with their time and help in supporting the memorial," Free said.

Ponder, general manager at Rock Bottom accepted the recognition at the Feb. 7 Campbell City Council meeting.

"In 15 years, my business philosophy has been you're either in the community or your out," Ponder said at the meeting. "Getting involved with the community and service clubs, that’s the way to go. And it's been fantastic."

And even as it celebrates its accomplishments, tonight is also a fundraiser to help out the Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation.

"They’ve been supportive of us all along but this is the first sponsored fundraiser for us," Free said. "For $10, you can have a glass of wine or beer, a brew specifically for the foundation."

The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and goes to 9:00 p.m. The $10 donation will benefit the foundation and the memorial currently under construction.

"We are about a third of the way through with the completion of Phase 1," Free said. "Our main focus is to finish Phase 1 and continuing on with our fundraising efforts."

The next fundraiser for the foundation will be June 16 for the organization's second annual car show.
