Eating Disorder Awareness Week Kicks Off With Fundraiser

Local Campbell organization, Eating Disorders Resource Center is hosting luncheon and silent auction.

Everybody knows somebody. At least that's what the National Eating Disorder Association says on its website.

This idea is the theme of the organization's National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, which goes through March 3.

In Campbell, the will be doing its part in raising awareness by hosting a raffle and silent auction luncheon fundraiser in the Roosevelt Room at the Feb. 29, from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

According to its website, the Eating Disorders Resource Center was founded in 2007 and aims at increasing awareness and understanding of eating disorders for the general public, as well as promoting early diagnosis, effective treatment and recovery.

The event speakers include Buck Runyan from Discovery/Oceanaire and Dr. Christine Pappas from La Ventana.

Raffle tickets will be sold at the door for $2 each or $10 for 10. Proceeds will benefit the Eating Disorders Resource Center.
