Grab and Go Kids Planner: Focus on Pets, Plants and A Play

Two street festivals with Society Dog's Woofin' in the Wind and FFA's Community Farm Fun Fest; but there's also a Stratford Middle School play, a tech challenge at the Tech Museum and a pre-school open house.

Where/When:  , 4805 Westmont Ave. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Why Go:  There's a double reason to show up with your kids here Saturday morning. For them,  Saturday is Community Farm Fun Fest day as well. After you shop for plants, the grounds will become a party place for young kids in the early afternoon, with a bounce house and a petting zoo. And of course, the public plant sale in the morning.  Proceeds from the plant sale benefit Westmont's chapter of the Future Farmers of America.

Where/When: Heritage Theater, 1 W. Campbell Ave., Friday and Saturday, 7:00 p.m. Sunday, 3 p.m.

Why Go: See and enjoy the performance talents of the Stratford Middle School players. This year, their annual spring musical is Guys and Dolls — a classic that's been with us for 50 years. Who would have thought a group of middle school kids could sing and dance these numbers with the style of an era they have only read about?  Get out and support them and see their play this weekend.
