Grab and Go Kids Planner: Books, Ducks and a Lost Ark

Go to a bookfair and a book sale; don't forget the soccer tryouts, then there's the duck race and a chance to see the very first Raiders of the Lost Ark; our suggestions for this weeks Kids Planner.

Why Go: Barnes & Noble is hosting a bookfair for children and adults with autism for the Pacific Autism Center for Education or PACE.  This year's focus will be on books about health and self-help.

Where/When: , 77 Harrison Ave., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Let everyone go and buy their own book or books. Plenty of books, and best yet, plenty of books within everyone's budget. Take your kids and they can knock themselves picking out the books they want to take home.

Pricing: Free to look, then you buy

Where/When: Fisher Middle School Soccer Field; 19195 Fisher Ave. Los Gatos, Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: This will be the last day of tryouts for BU14 soccer. Boys born between August 1 1997 and July 31 1998 are eligible for U14. If your son loves soccer and would like to play year-round, bring him to the tryouts for the Fall 2011 season.  Bring shin guards, cleats and plenty of water.

Pricing: No charge to try out

Where/When: The Retrodome, 1694 Saratoga Ave. San Jose; Friday, Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday 2 p.m.

Why Go:  You certainly know the story of Indiana Jones. Now share the tale with your kids and see what they think of the original Raider of the Lost Ark. Everyone will enjoy.

Pricing: $7 to $10

Where/When: , 333 Blossom Hill Road, Los Gatos; 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday.  

Why Go:  It’s time for the rubber duckies to race. It's the 4th Annual Silicon Valley Duck Race, a time for fun and fundraising. Rubber duckies are only $5 each; the more duckies you sponsor the greater your chance to win $1,000,000. Oh, and support 17 local charities at the same time. Lots of food and other games during the day as well.

Pricing: Free to attend, rubber duckies, $5 each
