Viewfinder: The Crown Jewel of Campbell

The grand re-opening of the Orchard City Banquet Hall was years in the making.

"It really did take a city to re-open Orchard City Banquet Hall," said Campbell City engineer Michelle Quinney.

The community, city officials and staff gathered on to officially reopen the historic building for a second life.

Green building, including use of recyclable materials and solar panels qualified this building, originally built in 1959, to be Campbell's very Silver LEED certified building.

The exterior of the revamped facility has a series of tiles, with eight different designs, similar to those on the building. The tile was made by San Jose-based Fireclay Tile Company.

"The community center is the crown jewel of the city's facilities," said Campbell Mayor Jason Baker to the crowd. "The remodeled Orchard City Banquet Hall is the newest addition to our gem collection.
