The ever-present monster of Campbell is being taken down, section by section, as we speak.
The crane at the Merrill Gardens construction site on Winchester Boulevard has been the source of awe and delight for many in the Orchard City, children and adults alike.
Campbell Patch has been documenting its presence through images as well as fun facts from the foreman himself. Here are a few:
- The crane is a 316 Liebherr Tower Crane.
- It was brought to the site on semi trucks and erected.
- It is 265 feet long.
- Each segment, or stone, of the tower weighs approximately 5,000 pounds, with the exception of one, which weighs approximately 7,000 pounds.
