Strike a Pose

Photos with Santa aren't just for kids anymore.

Now that the holiday season is here, there are loads of opportunities to get a festive photo snapped of Fido or Fluffy to share with friends and family. And as a bonus, several of these photo sittings benefit local animal shelters and rescue groups.

On the weekend of Saturday Dec. 3 and Sunday Dec. 4, has photos with Santa from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Donations of $10 or more are more are requested to help the animals at Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA). Pictures will be available immediately. For more information, visit the Friends of SVACA website.

And in Los Gatos on Saturday Dec. 3 and Saturday Dec. 10, Pet Food Express is offering photos with Santa from noon to 4 p.m. The cost is $10 for one photo and $15 for two and all of the proceeds go to Unconditional Love Animal Rescue.  The Los Gatos Pet Food Express is located at 15466 Los Gatos Blvd.

On Sunday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Santa Paws will be at Santana Row in San Jose for photos with your furry one. Photos are $20 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society Silicon Valley. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. in Park Valencia (located in the courtyard outside of Maggiano's and Starbucks).

There are also non-charitable pet photo opportunities around the South Bay during the next few weeks. On Dec. 3, All Action Photo will be at Okashi Barkery in Campbell, on Dec. 10 at Club Belly Rub located at 206 N. Bascom Ave. in San Jose and on Dec. 18 at Dr. Dave’s Doggy Day Care in Campbell. Photo packages start at $15 and final photographs would be mailed to your home in time for Christmas.

Pet of the Week

This week’s pet in need of a loving home is Wendy, a Chihuahua and Parson (Jack) Russell Terrier mix. She’s just over 1 year old and is full of affection and personality and she’d love to spend the holidays with you on your lap.
