You’re pregnant in the Campbell area, now what?

 

Pregnancy can be a wonderful and exciting time in a woman’s life, but it can also be pretty confusing and there’s a lot to do before baby arrives! Then once baby arrives, your life will never be the same.

So what’s a new Mom to do? The Mom Squad is here to help!

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite pregnancy and parenting resources in and around Campbell.

We’d love for other local parents to add to the list too!

PREPARING FOR BABY

 Now that we both have two kids, we decided to take a look back. Here’s some advice we wish we could give our (pregnant) selves:

Maternity Clothing

We know...we know...the idea of “Maternity Clothes” sounds LESS than appealing. But we promise, these awesome places have some really cute looks to show off that adorable (albeit ever expanding) belly!

Prenatal Health and classes

Taking care of yourself is very important while you’re carrying a little one! Finding the right doctor, birthing center, prenatal yoga or classes can be very helpful to help put your mind at ease.

Best Places to Deliver

Choosing a place to deliver your awesome little package is a pretty big deal, but don’t fret! All the hospitals in the area offer free Maternity Ward tours so you can check it out when you want to!

Baby showers

Who doesn’t love a baby shower?? All those tiny clothes ... adorable! Here is a list of some of the cute places to hold a baby shower!

Breast Feeding and Lactation Support & Resources

Breastfeeding does NOT come naturally to everyone. It was difficult for both of us for different reasons and having a support group can be incredibly helpful!

Classes for Baby’s Health and Wellness

Moms’ Groups and Support for Moms

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
