Cambell's Fire Fighter Paramedic Program was the first in Northern California.
Although Santa Clara County Fire Department now takes care of the citizens of Campbell when there's a need, not too long ago the city had its own department.
The Campbell Fire Department was retired in 1993, 80 years after it was first organized July 1913.
In 1973, it also became the first Fire Fighter Paramedic Service in Northern California.
