Open Casting Calls for Popular Reality Show are Friday, Saturday

America's Next Top Model is hosting two casting calls in San Francisco and San Jose.

Bay Area residents have a chance to become the country's next high-profile model.

The popular reality TV show, "America's Next Top Model," is hosting two open casting calls in the Bay Area this week, looking to cast both women and men, CBS Local Media spokesman Akilah Bolden-Monifa said.

A casting call will be held on Friday at the Metro PCS store at 900 Van Ness Ave. and on Saturday, it will be at Digicom Wireless at 1698 Story Road in San Jose, Bolden-Monifa said.

Both casting calls will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for eligible candidates.

Men must be a minimum of 5 feet 10 inches tall and women have to be at least 5 feet 7 inches tall to be considered. All aspiring models must be between 18 and 27 years old, Bolden-Monifa said.

The one- to three-minute auditions, recorded by the local CW TV affiliate, KBCW-TV, will be sent to the show's producers, who will make the final casting selections, she said.

Candidates must fill out an application, which can be found at www.cwbayarea.com, before going to the casting call.

There is no timetable announced for when the show's producers will select the cast of the show. Casting calls for the show began in mid-December and end Saturday, although models can send in their own auditions online.

"America's Next Top Model," in its first year as a coed competition, is scheduled to air this fall.
