Real Snow—and Other Holiday Happenings This Month

December's calendar has an art show, toy drive, open house, holiday tea, ornament classes and more.

December in Campbell is a joyous time. Santa, lights, snow and, of course, sales at local boutiques fill Campbell with holiday cheer. To make sure all of you Campbell locals take advantage of all of the holiday events in December, here is a list of happenings for the whole month. There are so many amazing events put on by members of the community for everyone to enjoy.

Dec. 2: Campbell Community Toy Program Benefit Night. On Thursday, join the and the Santa Clara Fire Department at the for the night of the annual charity benefit. Admission is a donation of $10 for adults and free to children under 12. Guests are encouraged to bring new and unwrapped toys for children, from infants to teens. The toy program has been going on since 1984 and benefits children in low-income families through EMQ Families First. The evening will include great fun, food, raffles and live music.

Dec. 3-18: Christmas in Campbell. Each Friday evening and Saturday afternoon starting this Friday through Dec. 18, residents can enjoy live entertainment, super sales and great dining during Christmas in Campbell. Campbell merchants come together in this great event to give locals great sales and a sense of holiday cheer, with live music from carolers, jazz bands and other local favorites.

Dec. 4: Annual Carol of Lights Festival. On Saturday, Campbell will put on the ultimate holiday event of the year, the Carol of Lights Festival. Bounce houses and pony rides are available for children. Santa makes a stop at this event for photos, and, best of all, the snow zone provides a place for children to play in real snow. Every year, locals enjoy the festivities of this event.

Dec. 2-12 : Holiday Tea at the Ainsley House. Each afternoon beginning Thursday through Dec. 12, the Ainsley House hosts Holiday Tea for locals. This event is by appointment only and costs $30 to $35 to participate. Fine English teas and a tour of the Ainsley House makes this a relaxing and elegant event for all who participate.

Dec. 10: Holiday Toy Drive at Chacho's and . This fun toy drive will help children during this holiday season while putting on a great event for Campbell locals. From 5-10 p.m. on Dec. 10, take either a cash donation or a new toy to this party, which features live music and appearances by an Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champion and one of the San Jose Sharks. 

Dec. 11: Mosaic Christmas Ornament Classes. Join the on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 9:30 a.m. for a Mosaic Christmas Ornament class. The group will learn to design and create ornaments and will be able to complete and take home their creations. The total for the class is $40.

Dec. 12: Have Yourself a Crazy Little Christmas. On Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., join for a holiday event unlike any other. This is the second-annual art show containing some of the craziest art you've ever seen. And to make everything a little more fun and festive, Psycho Donuts will offer karaoke and the debut of its Christmas donut selection.

Dec. 16 and 19: Christmas Around the World at the Ainsley House. On Thursday and Sunday, Dec. 16 and 19, from 5:30-8 p.m. the Ainsley House will open for guests to enjoy its decor and lights. Appetizers and wine will be available to guests, as well as a selection of some of the finest gifts. Tickets are $10 for members, $15 to non-members, and can be bought at the museum store, museum office or at the door.
