Holiday Decorations: When Do You Start Up that Ladder?

Thanksgiving is around the corner and Hanukkah and Christmas in the near horizon.

It happens just a little earlier every year, but never unnoticed.

The holiday decorations begin to appear in shop windows, outside storefronts and sometimes, even in residents' yards.

The isle in the supermarket, the local big box, even many small boutiques change from Halloween to Christmas in what seems like a blink of the eye.

Santana Row's 10th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony took place last night.

So when do you decide to get the ladder out and hang those light/decorations/etc.?

We start putting up our decorations the day after Thanksgiving, because it takes us over a week to decorate outside and inside.

The day after Thanksgiving is "Christmas Tree Day" for our family. We go to the tree farm first thing in the morning to pick out our tree. Then, we spend the day decorating while we listen to Christmas music. It's our little tradition and we love it :)

That's a great tradition Bethany! This will be our first year with a real tree and my 5 year old is super excited. We start decorating just before Thanksgiving because we throw an "Ugly Sweater Party" every year to kick off the holidays. =)
